When you’re ready to send email, there are many ways to go about it. You will want to avoid using desktop PC software email programs unless you are using a throw away and cheap dial-up account for your internet access. You may also want to avoid using some of the online web-based services if what you are going to do violates their terms of use. Also be aware that you don’t want to violate terms of use of  your ISP or webhosting company either!

You may find that you can send permission-based email in limited numbers without having any problems simply by using a temporary email address and service such as Google Mail which offers the capability of sending multiple email at one time using the BCC field of the email. Just be careful to not overdue it!

The big concern when it comes to email is that you will want to only send permission-based email. In other words, make sure you have a valid opt-in list that includes IP address and date and time of the request for information.

A quick word about the legal stuff is in order. From a non-lawyer’s perspective, you’ll stay safe if you make sure you email complies with all relevant rules and laws such as the CanSpam Act.

Why not try a little person-to-person telemarketing?

Email marketing is only part of the success equation when it comes to marketing.
